Hi,

The difference between a Peltier and a Water cooler is this...

A water cooler setup can be used by its self to cool a CPU, as in a CPU, water block, pump, radiator setup.....with this you can cool your CPU to around water temps (NOTE: you will not get below ambient water temps unless you have very cold water or somehow you cool the water , i.e a water chiller ect)

A peltier on the other hand is only a device where on side gets "hot" and the other side gets "cool"....but this only happens IF you cool the "hot" side!!! (NOTE: if you do not cool the "hot" side of a peltier you will destroy the peltier!) in most cases the "hot" side is cooled by either air or water cooling. The better you cool the "hot" side of the peltier the cooler/colder the "cold" side will get! (with good cooling, i.e water cooling -ve temps are easy!).

To put it this way a peltier must be used with a cooler of some sort (air, water ect), it is however not some amazing device that you can just put on your CPU to get -ve CPU temps. Peltiers are complex devices!

Water cooling can be expensive if done correctly but ussually cooling using a peltier is more expensive as you need a watercooler as well as a peltier.

Peltiers are however better if used correctly than water coolers alone.
