Ok I got a 1.4 ghz AMD Tbird using a M7VIB motherboard.
Currently I got a 300W PS in my system, and my numbers are fine.
BUT I got a new HSF on the way that will require a 4 pin adapater and 6 more Volts.
The PS I have now doesnt have many 12 volt leads on it, in fact I got everything split 2-3x already.
I run a HD tri fan thats split with the CD Burner
DVD drive splits with the frontal fan.
Video slot cooler( doesnt plug into PCI just occupies a spot) splits with the Floppy drive.
The Hardrive has its own power lead.
Currently only the available power source is a mini 4 pin connector.
I would love to install a exhaust fan behind the HSF( Vital but the system did not come with one) and as well the need a place for the new HSF Vantec 3065D.
I can buy a frontal fan that uses 3 pin instead of 4( I have a place on my mothboard front for one but the intake currently is a 4 pin full size.
I guess my question is is a 300w enough for all this? or am I soon to be overstressing my PS into failure?
It looks like my PS only has about 3 large 12 volt and 2 small 12 leads. This doesnt seem right in a computer thats needing 8-10 power sources.
Can I keep splitting this thing into oblivion, or do I need to buy a new PS?
If so what power? no need to over do it if I don't really need a nuclear PS I don't want one, I just want what I actuallly need to support what I got:)
This URL below lists all the reccomended ones for 1.4 ghz/Ideas?
