My mobo has PC3200(ddr400) maximum of 4 banks ( 2 double-sided) only. Or the system will run in PC1600, if exceeded.

I have muskin pc3500 level 1 512x1 and mushkin level 1 256x2.
The 512 stick is a dual bank while the 256 is single bank each. For a total of 4 banks. But there is a sentence that I don't understand. It being in dual configuration.
