home made radiator idea with pic....need comment

ok I think Ive thought of a ok radiator idea

woohoo it worked ok you see 2 large copper tubes wich are 1/2



the ones that connect the 1/2" ones are the smallest copper tubing I can find I think 1/4"


I was going to drill holes the the 1/2" tubing and solder the 1/4 tubing in plase.

I was also going to make 2 of these and stack thim to help with surface area
they will be big enough for 2 92mm fans

what do you guys think?

will this design cool down a video card and a chipset?

yeh, that will work, that is the same idea i had, it will take longer to cool as the water goes up lots of pipes

That will work, but your flow is going to be kinda funky. Most radiators use one continuous pipe (imagine 4 Ss attached together), because it allows for no place for the water to become stagnant. In your design, very little flow will occur through the "bottom" part of your ladder, while most of the flow will happen at the top. Consequently, you'll only effectively be using 1/2 of your radiator.

I thought about that I think that wont realy be a problem if I use small enough copper pipe

Im going to the junk yard today and if I dont find what Im looking for I will try this design


or maybe I will make it anyways and compare it to a heater core

its 7-1/2"x3" so I can put 2 92mm fans on it easly

I will post results some time next week


I will be very impressed if I can run my cpu on it :D
