Posting here cos there don't seem to be any posts in the AMD Motherboards forum. This normal? Anyway...
When my mobo manual says that it supports 950Mhz processor max, does that mean that it won't go any higher full stop. Or that at the time of writing that was the max processor speed they had access to so they can't garentee anything over that? Or does it depend on the company? I have a Chaintech 7AJA Socket-A mobo.
Ta
My pc chips mobo only supports speeds of upto 866 but i tried to go higher and it booted but windows won't load.:(
The KT7A-RAID that I have will only support up to 1.2GHz WITH the stock BIOS. I flashed it to the latest BIOS release & now it will go past 1.2GHz. When I had the stock BIOS & tried a clockspeed higher than 1.2GHz it just stayed at 1.2.

it's kinda dangerous to put something overrated on another thing
especially a PCCRAP mobo!
they have crap capacitors that barely supplies enough juice for the cpu to live and if you put something overrated you sure will have something burning

Now i am running at normal speed 700mhz. Damn mobo doesn't even have flashable bios. This computer is an OEM. I am planning to build my first computer next year and PCChips mobos are off my list.
