Would the "Core" or "Memory" setting being to high cause artifacts in 3DMARK?
, and how do you insert an imagfe "in" a post rather than just attach one?
Yes that would cause artifacts.
I just attach files and they appear when the post is looked at think it has to do with the file extension .jpg, ect.

...but which one the "Core" or "Memory" setting?
Either if its set to high. Thats why its best to overclock each seperately to find the limits then set both after.

It also helps to keep moving it up in small increments until you get artifacts... then back it off just a bit.

i usually get artifacts first if i o/c my memory too high
so i o/c them both seperately, memory first
once the memory gives artifacts then i back off a few mhz and start to o/c my core speeds

I have the gainward geforce3 golden sample and I had it set to enhanced performance setting and "fills up the memory"? But I ran it at the defalt and got 5406. Don't know maybe its gooffy. I'm also running the new NVIDIA drivers.
what do you mean by artifact?
Artifacts are when you have stray pexels popping up, or lines flashing randomly across the screen, or "tearing" of the image. In other words, the video image on the monitor does not look clean or perfect. This is usually caused from overclocking the vid card too much and/or the vid card getting too hot.
