It's one amazing laptop! It's also not quite as ugly as the other Dells.

Holy snotcakes! Check This (http://www.anandtech.com/video/showdoc.aspx?i=2356&p=1) review out.
wow that held up to a desktop athalon64 4000+ system... amazing....
Wow, I'm quite surprised at the the performance and it appears that mobile gaming has pretty much caught up to the desktop. However, considering weight and battery life, I'm not sure if I would call the XPS2 truly mobile.

THG also did a review on it, mostly the vid card tho :P

That's a pretty buff laptop, but in a laptop I'm more of a fan of light weight and long battery life than I am of sheer horsepower. I'll stick with my tablet PC.

i would rather have a laptop that has a battary life of over an hour....
and for a desktop replacement it is alot more expsive and i can't upgrade it myself very much or very cheaply...
though if i had money to burn and needed a lan party or was going aboard then i might look into it...
so how does a mobile 6800ultra compare to a reg. 6800ultra?

It looks judging from those 2 articles that it is pretty close to the desktop version of the 6800 Ultra. I am interested, and will look for more information on it.
Because of the dothan processor, lowvoltage ram, efficent videocard this baby is only going to get an extera 25-50% battery life cause the battery capacity is 2/3 of the previous gen.

Go with a Sager if you prefer a Non dell.
I love mine and its a powerhouse.. nothings given it a problem yet and it runs perfectly

The sagers are definately better looking. The word is there will be a Sonoma based PCI Express GPU laptop (Sager, extremenotebooks, cyberpowersystems...) in a few weeks. I'm going to hold out and see what they'll have to offer first.

as much as i prefer sager over dell, i in all honesty like the xps2 more than the 9860. better battery life and pretty much the same power (unless you're doing a lot of compiling and stuff, in which case a p4 would be better)

The first generation Inspiron XPS system SUCK. I take calls on them all the time (by the way, I'm an XPS technician at the call center in Nashville).
I got a chance to strip down the Gen2, it is one bad mofo.
