Are these PSU's any good? I'm building a new computer for my friend and he wants it to look nice with his green case. It's going to have the following hardware: AMD 64 4400, Asus A8N-SLI, 1gb ddr400, 256mb X800 Pro, cdrw/dvd-rom drive, dvd burner, and he won't be overclocking much. Is this psu sufficient? Thanks.

They're decent - Topower made, similar in quality to the units Tagan, Globalwin, A+GBP, and BeQuiet is using.

Would it be better to go with a Fortron/Sparkle/Antec/Enermax instead? I'm only putting this PSU in his computer basically because it has at least 550w of power and of course, the blue led fans. :o

It should hold up pretty well, I'd call them Enermax level at least. FSP/Sparkle would be an improvement in build quality, but the jury's still out for me on Antec until those Truepower 2.0 units come out.

My buddy has one of those and he swears by it...we put it in so i have seen it in person, not just heard about it.
All nice and shinny and bluey....it's def bling bling....
Has EasyConnect molex's too....which makes it so easy to use. The wires and connectors are sleeved with UV blue. It's pretty heavy too, comparable to my Antec TrueBlue 480w, which means it's at least descent. The noise is nill, with the Antec being louder. It's also TRUE 550w, not some crap 550w that only produces 250w lol...
It's on sale @ Frozencpu too.... $69.99...  I might pick it up too...
