for some reason, when i install the omega drivers, it erases dx9 and the only way i can get my games to run is to go back to the catalyst 5.1 drivers. is there something im doing wrong or what?

Try another driver like DNA.
maybe it will help you.

reinsall DX 9 after the omega's ?
