I heard something that on MSI DDR mobos, something has to be moved and sodered on somewhere else, or something like that. Does anyone know?

On the MSI K7T266, some revisions have a resistor in one place and others have it in another.... one revision was more stable and the other one was faster. I think the official verdict is neither is particularly great. There also were rumors of a Turbo BIOS for it and differing performance on some revisions..... the K7T266 board was a troubled board, it came under a lot of fire because it was the first of a disappointing sub-par KT266 board series. A lot of companies put off releasing KT266 boards because of the bad taste this one left in people's mouths.
If you already have it.... I don't know what to say. I dont know that moving a resistor will help. If you're thinking about buying this board.... I'd suggest steering clear and either waiting for a decent KT266A offering, or going with a Shuttle AK31 rev 2 or an Epox 8KHA.
