Hi,

I just tried to overclock my new Kyro II 64MB card and wow, I managed to get it to 195MHz(I didnt't test any higher) without artifacts, but when I ran Quake III timedemo(1024x768 32Bit Max settings) the performance was horrible. First it was fast , then it slowed down to an incredible framerate, the picture remained the same for one second, then it got faster again and that happened all the time till the benchmark was over. That's like the card had a hickup.
Did any of you experinece the same???

Please help!

Maybe you overclocked the card beyond it's limits. Try a few mhz lower and run the test again.

How about the cooling?
Good luck!

that does sound like heat is a problem....
Also you may want to bump you IOvoltage up a tad bit(3.5)....
once you have cooling taken care of

Yes, you were right,

I oveclocked the card too high. I backed down the speed to 190 Mhz and everything is working fine again and now after tweaking the drivers a bit, it's real fast!!! Went from 62,2 FPS to 85 FPS in Quake 3 Arena v.1.29 Timedemo in 1024x768 and 32Bit.

SWEET.

After modding it with some serious cooling and perhaps doing the voltage mod, I hope it'll pass the 200 MHz mark with great stability.

THX!
