OK OK, AMD AthlonXP overclocking with impressive results!

Central Computers sold three AthlonXP 1.53GHz processors on Friday and the one guy reported with very good overclocking results.

He was able to get the AthlonXP to 1866MHz using a standard 1.85V which all motherboards support! (133.33x14)

He also points out that the Palaminos use Multipliers between 10X and 20X so there's lots to choose from.

thats all I know, i dont even know the motherboard they used. anyway, I dont think u care about that, since you just wanted overclocked results right?


oh ya, one last thing, the store said that they will be getting more AthlonXP models in on the 9th of next month! so I cant wait to hear back from them. they will get in 1333,1400,1466,1500 and the 1533MHz models.

Central computers rulez cause they dont believe in PR ratings so you never have to worry about how many MHz your gettin cause youll always know!

Hey, easy here. He's not attempting to legitimize results... nor is he making claims that HE has one or that HE did this.... just trying to let us in on something.

Let's leave the mudslinging for when it's a bit more justified.

lol, My system is real unlike yours, when u spend 4g on a PC, you get 4g worth of performance.

you obviously know nothing about high end air cooling. Your obviously not to bright nore even just a bit keen in any way. My 150mm coolin fan with the SK-6 proves to my 50c temps @ 1855MHz

before people mis judge about the AthlonXP out, its kinda is and kinda isnt. Some computer stores got some to advertise and demostrate. I'm not to plan to buy another amd processor till they hit the 2GHz barrier, I'm simply informing people about this great new processor that beats my processor in every way.

I bet ya a 1000 bucks that if you run 2v in the 1.53 cpu, it will run 2GHz stable.

I'm very tempted to believe him simply because that would be very good news for AMD and me as the consumer. If I could out and get a Palomino to 1866 at 1.85V, that would be something that I would like to buy. At the moment, I'll take it for what it is, somewhere between speculation and rumor.

I didn't say anything in regard to the AthlonXP but about your system and especially your great success to produce some very detailed pictures of your cooling system or ANY evidence what-so-ever to cough*back-up-that-@$$*cough about anything you said of them. I don't want to get into a big aruement here, but I will vow to you if you _prove_ to me anything about your system, don't jsut blab, anyone can say lie in words, be honest and get us some _real_ photos.

I wouldn't wonder if that's true but it was not what I was talking about. I know the Palominos will be good -read many reviews and prediction that say the same thing. But your system is what I wonder, I remember a gazillion things you said and showed that were just so bs that you made me crack up, I don't want to bring up that long thread where everyone nailed you but you know what I'm talking about. I'll sweep this one under the rug for now

Yeah and didn't Atomic Guy crap on Andy's 1.2 Morgan core at 1.62ghz overclock when he got that prototype chip? I think the info is good and I just wish he didn't keep teh 1.855GHz in his siq cuz lots of people with vaporchills are barely hitting that mark. I believe him that teh 1.53 with have a 20% overclock up to around 1.85 but not the tbird in his sig even with a volt mod no way would it only be 50C underload with air cooling. please prove us wrong AtomicGuy does have lots of good post but the one thread is all we ever remember.

Atomic guy and Wild Andy to me are people who get off saying they have some incredible machine that runs 40-60 percent over stock cpu speed. I will never believe anything they say or put out because i myself could do the same and put out fake pics also.
The real proof is when you see other overclockers posting their overclocking results where it comes to be on par with everyones elses. There is no way in my mind that someone out of the blue gets a 40 percent overclock than anyone else who has the same processor. Sorry but this guy will never believe the crap atomic guy or wild andy puts out.

Sorry! I should have reworded my post. When I said bogus photos and no proof, I meant AtomicGuy! I believe Andy's 100%. Andy's Morgan thread had multiple photos and I never
had any doubt. I actually congratulated him!

C'mon guys and gals. There is nothing wrong with questioning the unbelievable, even scoffing at the absurd, but try to not let these forums denegrate into flaming. If you have a problem with someone send them a private message about it. If they're on the level, perhaps they will elaborate, perhaps they will not. Having read the first post in this thread, it struck me as simply a statement of what someone has heard. I try to weigh every post on its merit, not on the posters past.
In my short time overclocking (9 months), but with 35 years in Electronics Engineering, I, like you, I have seen my share of uninformed drivel, informed drivel, outlandish claims, thought stimulating speculation, yatta yatta, etc. The only thing that stands out is that where PC Hardware is involved, is that with the fast evolution occurring, what is incredible today is passe and in the mark-down bin in six months.
I have gotten to the point, where when I read something that compels me to indignant rebuke, I walk away from it, cool down, and only then participate in the thread. My quick opinion just isn't that important in the grand scheme of things, other then to vent my spleen. How a person deals with adversity, credulity, even attack, says as much about them as they are saying about the offending party. Lets all strive to lead by example.
