Is it just me and me being absent for a little bit or has some members left the team ? Can someone bring me up to speed on the goings on. With the team or give some feedback to support or dismiss my impressions. And any other relevant info if possible. I am back and crunching happily but just things seem to be a bit quiet ?

I'm still here. Perhaps the absense of noise is due to the world full of hurt that's going on right now, that sort of thing can take the words right out of your mouth. As for me my ETA @ 150 wu's is approximately 4am tomorrow. Then on to 200!

It has been very quiet around here expecially since the stats have been down.

But Basher has done a great job picking up the slack.

First seems that Daniel left. The reson I don't know.

Second, Kris (a.k.a Morpheous) had to decrease it's time with the team as he has new responsabilities. He got a new job and a new daughter.

Third, Lionfish (a.k.a Rot-R-uz) left the team to join folding.

Lot's of changes, and on top of that the incident of two weeks ago, has left this good community with few words.

I for one don't see myself jumping ship from here, not unless things change drastically and badly from what they currently are.

I must say though if you have been reading general things have been going on that were not allowed only a few weeks ago. I know that the Sept 11th tragedy has allowed more leeway, but much to much INHO. The Seti forum is the only forum I feel truly safe, and that's not good, I'm a very easy going guy 'til you get me riled.

AOA is doing a folding team. SETI is not being done because we don't have the resources to do both. AOA is a central forum to several affiliate websites to increase traffic to all the affiliate sites.

This is the first time for me to see wha't's been going on lately. Interresting to see so much of our members at the other forum, I will have a look there today to see what's it all about.

But don't worry, I will be crunching for our team, I'm just a little busy with school/work. I'll drop in from time to time.

And yeah, it's little bit quit now. Must be the stats that are missing, it's the glue that binds us together.

I have to admit I am glad I started this thread seems to have really opened the information flow some. Just feels like something is really missing here. I can remember the bustling posts going around in the SETI thread. I know I was a posting maniac :D.

I think the team is fine, we have been growing nicely, we have 47 new members in the last month but our production is down about 100 WU's a day. We will be fine just keep on crunching :)

My thoughts are divided right now. Have been seriously thinking of shutting Seti off completely. Too many problems with Berkeley, and no resolution in sight. I hate crunching WU's just to have them dropped by Berkeley - and the fact that it took them over 2 weeks to acknowledge the problem. My WU per day production was up to 58, then I lost 2 crunchers, but my slowest crunchers, so at the worse case my production should still be around 50 per day. Because of the 'nimda' virus, I had all my boxes taken off our network for a couple of days last week. When I put the network back on line I had a lot of cached units - 105. After all my boxes had finished transmitting, on checking Berkeley I got credit for 10. 95 lost WU's. Just tired of crunching WU's to have them disappear - I can accomplish the same by just turning them all off.

Also, it is a lot different with the team. First Daniel~ has a problem with the forums and leaves. Kris (Morpheus) has life changes and says he can't run the website, but will continue to post in the forums. Haven't seen a posting from him in a long time. Speedj is now the new project leader, but don't see him posting to the group as Kris use to do. Now that I have seen the AOA forum, I might just frequent them, and maybe join their folding team.

Lots of things has happened in this short time. Usually when a community grows to a certain point some disagrements cause it to split.....just remember.....Tolerance is the best politic.

Kinda sad to see some of our fellow brothers drop the O.C.Com Seti team but we must move on, nuthing we can do about it now.. We got new 47 new members.. Let's work on getting them addicted so our Wu average will go thru the roof guys!!! Don't worry Only thing that will tear me away from this team is maybe a Electromagnetic bomb droppped on San Diego (Which in turn would wipe out all electric devices for hundreds of miles if not thousands :eek: )

Now that is drastic and badly so! I'd get in Berkeley's face and not get out until they responded, appropriately, if that happened to me! I'd like to know if that happens again. Maybe I will be jumping ship, from SETI as a whole.

I've about had it with Seti. I'm losing on the order of 30 to 40 units per day. I'm beginning to shut down Seti on many of my boxes and devote them entirely to folding and genome. If Seti can't get their problems fixed, why bother working for them?
