I am upgrading to a new A64 system and I would like to know what others think of the system I plan on putting together. I'm new to the AMD arena and any advice is welcome. I will be overclocking. I've been doing a lot of reading of fourms and reviews, and I'm really looking for the most bang for the buck. Here's what i plan to get. I would like advice as to my memory choices specifically, as I'm not too sure which ones perform the best.

Motherboard - DFI LANPARTY UT nF4 Ultra-D
CPU - AMD Athlon 64 3200+ Socket 939
Memory - CORSAIR XMS 1GB DDR PC-3200
Video Card - BFG nVIDIA GeForce 6800 GT

As far as memory goes, i've also looked at the OCZ platinum rev 2 and the PQI Turbo.

i would opt for a cheaper 3000 winny.. with your ram you should hit its max 9 frequency .. probaby wont use 10 one you get it setup right ,,

plus if you get cheap 3000 you can sell it and save money and get a venice core .. thats what it wlll be about soon !!

COME ON VENICE !!!!!!!!

i would honestly ditch the 3200 speeds as of now ..

go for the big daddy's .. as they are gauanteed to run tight timings at high speeds,, 3200 nice ram will probably run it too but its not gaurantted..

So what other kinds of RAM would yuo recommend? I had also been debating between getting an AMD 3200 or a 3500, both winny, but recently decieded a 3200 would be more worthwhile. I don't plan on upgrading for awhile, so if you guys think something is worth waiting for I'd like to know.

I'm running a 3200+ Winnie and it purrs along no problem.Put the rest of the money in some good memory. At my settings I'm able to prime95 stable for more than 24hours.

Well i finally decided i didn't want to wait any longer, and bought the stuff for my new system today. I got everything from newegg.

DFI Nforce4 Ultra
Athlon 64 3200
1 GB corsair 2-2-2-5 PC3200
eVGA 6800GT
Fortron AX500 PSU

Let me know what you guys think, I'm pretty anxious to get it up and running, and tips from people will be much appreciated.

The board loves winbond UTT and seems to have some issues with TCCD, at least with the stock bios. Great choices otherwise.
