ok, i have an A7V (early revision i think, 1.02?). and im using a tbird 800. it is running "ok" @ 909mhz. (101X9.0). but, im having skipping problems. everything will play fine, but sometimes, i get some really jerky action going on. i ran fair use overnight, and it didnt crash. (fair use is a HEAVILY intensive program, 100% cpu usage, SOLID. will kill most systems of OC'ed.)

i have the core voltage set at 1.85, and that is pretty much what the chip reads at. and under heavy load, my motherboard monitor shows really low voltages across my board. (-5.0v hit 2.0 once!).

oh, and cooling isnt an issue, im running at 23C idle, and 32 under FULL load. do i need to do the voltage mod to bump up my core voltage?

welcome to the forums...

You’re a FU user huh? heh, anyways, I would suggest using NanDub, but that's getting off topic here... what is your wattage? it sounds like you’re using a measly 200w PSU, am I around the ballpark?

yeah... that sounds about it. Such unstability in you're voltage suggests a poor PSU. You should do something about that... not good. :) Get a solid 400W and you'll be set for a while.

sounds even less than 200w psu to me

yeah might be to.. im running the exact same board an cpu.. A7v rev 1.02, t-bird 800.. and found the same thing.. 909mhz was about as much as i seemed to be able to squeeze out of it.. i could boot at as much as 950mhz.. 9.5x10 .. and i wish! my temps were as low as yours.. but anyway.. it wouldnt load an OS at anything more than 909mhz.. without joining the L7 bridge, bios reports 1.83v when using the jumpers to set 1.825/1.85 v ..
needs to be straight 1.85 ..
my psu is 300w .. used to be 250w but that wasnt even close to cuttin the mustard.. lol
to many addon cards...
but yeah, what you describe is exactly what i was experiencing.. what finally bsod'd my sys, was when i was running half a dozen appz at once online.. an then told it to search all drives for some files.. oooooooh it didnt like that.. lol
bsod'd .. an in win xp.. thats restart material.. theres no, 'press any key to continue' ... ya pushin the power button.. lol
good luck dood. ;)

Im facing the same dilemma.. do i or dont i.. question is, if the L7 bridge is joined, does that mean its constantly 1.85v while that bridge is joined?.. or merely that it can attain that voltage if set by jumper...if it means its constantly 1.85v then i dont think i will.. but if it just means it can hold 1.85v whenever i choose to set the jumpers then i will.. anyone else know the answer to this?

penciling the L7 means boot with 1.85v......if that's what i remember correctly

anyways.....my a7v is kinda screwed.....as i could never get my dead duron 750 and now duron 600 over 990
anything(even 1mhz) over that it will crap out and start giving me errors

especially on win2k

yes you should use at least 300w psu
