hey guys been a while since I have been here..Well her is my problem I just re-installed my pc after a much needed re-format. Well I have installed all my drivers and such and now my sound will not stop skipping...I thought maybe it was the driver so I updated it from Nvidia to Realtek AC97 which I guess can be used...cuz it was on my mobo's website...does anyone know what is wrong here?
thnx for any help :)

make sure your northbridge has adequate cooling (I'm pretty that's where the AC97 is located...although it could be southbridge).
Try all types of driver revisions....if it fails you might want to consider a sound card...for reasons more than just skipping sound.

Skipping audio can also arise from bottlenecks in the bus so you may want to check if that's where the problem's coming from (sorry, not sure what tool you could use to specifically pinpoint this as the source problem...I'm sure someone else on the boards knows more than I do).
If you go for a pci s/card, go with turtle beach (imho, of course)...the soundblasters are notorious bus bandwidth pigs.
