Do you think they ruined CS?

CS doesnt seem to offer the same playing abillity as it used to. They got rid of bunny hopping and there seems to be a lot of bugs. Let me know if you guys think its the same way. I am planning to re-install 1.1

It's about time the got rid of the bunnyhopping. Yeah it's a little buggy but that is expected. Everyone is complaining about the bunny hopping. I guess the dont like the added realism.

I havent experienced any bugs yet.... But the voices are annoying... jeeze, didnt know so many weirdos played CS... :p
I think 1.3 is just as good as 1.1, its in no way ruined.

bunny hopping is when the person keeps jumping around eitehr doing this manually or with a script that you download off the net

it makes you harder to shoot the person

AND YES they DID ruin cs......it's horrible and my fonts in the game become blurry to a point almost unreadable

blurry fonts? what type of rendering do you use and @ what res?

And I don't think they ruined the game at all, just added some more features...but I'd be happy to trade it all in IF THEY'D JUST FIX THAT DAMNED BUG THAT MAKES YOU LOSE YOUR SOUND :eek: :eek:

First of all , i think the bunnyhop must be a server to server thing as i can do it all day long, and i assure you i have no script for it. Just keep hitting space at the correct time. And as far as fuzzy fonts, i had that whne o played CS for the first time. Go to video and use the OpenGl driver Default, and run it at 800x600 minimum res and that should fix it.

I'm frequently losing my sound too and the people talking is sometimes annoying. It's bad enough to read people swearing, I don't need to hear it too. Everything is F this F that. Where's the creativity?:D

Not only is there uncontrolled swearing (not always bad;)) but the accents some people have.... In the words of Jay Leno:

be wary if you have a radeon, you need to run it in direct 3d until a patch comes out. THat is the only major bug known right now.

I say the game hasn't been worth it since the big 7.0 came out...man, I was playing CS back in the beta 2 days, how many of you CSers can say that? I promptly got sick of it between beta 5.5 and beta 7, where they made some major changes and practically everyone started playing, and went back to the best game of all time, Quake 3 :)

(of course you ask how Quake 3 is the best game of all time? Well, it's the only game that I'm still playing constantly, and has been out for-freakin-ever. I went through *all* the Half Life single players-regular, op force, and blue shift, this summer on hard, and it wasn't very good at all. A good half our deathmatch beats out hours of Half Life, any day)

well, i for one think they got a little too headshot-happy with the 1.3 version. that and it seems kevlar and helmets dont really protect much anymore.

my new favorite weapons are now the TMP and the mac10...fire a few dozen rounds out in 2 seconds flat, with the bloated heads, you're bound to knock off people left and right.

to sum it up best, after my second time playing de_torn, my first death came after 12 frags, all with the mac10. the reign of mac10 terror has come to a halt, folks. but only for a round.

i think the best way to say it is... the body cant take as much damage anymore. so yes, the handguns do more damage. i'm sick of getting one-shot headshotted with my helmet on from a usp.

Ya the big differences in Cs 1.3 are that the head shot box was made much bigger, the body can take less dmg and some weapons were tweaked. I kinda like being able to cap people easier, but it sucks at the same time. Its good, give it a chance.

How many of you can sustain multiple gunshot wounds and still be at 100% battle capacity? I'm downloading 1.3 now, and I'll check it out once it's done in about two minutes. But I've always thought that headshots were too hard. It was like you had a small circle in the middle of the face you could hit. I'm hoping the WHOLE head is now a target for the headshot.

Heh wait till you try, it....is... Heh seems like 2 feet square around the head that will cause a head shot if hit. I like it all tho, going good for me. Just make sure you shoot them, before they shoot you.

My biggest complaint is the new gfx. I can not longer get the nice 30+ fps in 1240x780x32. Perhaps I just need newer hardware, but it takes alot out of the game to have to play it in 640x480x16 go get a decent framerate.

Well, some people write scripts themselve ;) (I never used it though because I dont play CS anymore)

I'am the only one that does not like CS?? i find it boreing I know so people are not going to agree but thats fine by me....It's just to damn eazy to get killed and then you have to wait around untill your whole team gets kill in order to get back in the game....I play TFC most of the time and when I have time on my hands UT.

I think CS is a lot more buggy than it ought to be, im a coder for a halflife MOD (roleplay halflife) and counterstrike really shouldnt be that buggy cos a lot of the code is very simple.
People in the community attribute this to the fact that goose isnt really much of a coder, but he wanted to keep the mod team small, so he does a lot himself.

I really think the voice tech sucks tho, cos u always get mad 11 year olds shouting stuff and tryin to sound "leet" when they just sound lame. But i guess it could be useful when in a clan game with ppl u know.

I play a lot of CS and enjoy it, but it really annoys me when u get lame assed 12 year olds ruining the game by grenade spamming, or just being annoying. And dont even get me started about cheaters. Ive been accused of cheating a lot lately, some people just cant accept losing...

I think the server must have the new version for it to work and not all servers have the new updayts..i think :P

i think the 1.3 version of counterstrike has evened the playing field (much to my demise).

i think they've evened out to where the laggy/no skilled mofo's can just spray and get enough kills from headshots that the skilled people really lose their advantage. i guess the only plus experienced players still have is sneaking around on people and ambushing.

but, since i'm a scouter, i really do enjoy sneak attacks. and with the watermelon sized heads now, scouting has become much easier. however, once i'm discovered, i get mowed down (that inevetable spray 90% of the time happens to knock MY head off) by the guy with 600 ping.

First of all i hate all campers with awp or scout! LOL but really i assume that uou have not found out yet about muting the voices in CS. Just hold tab and click on there names and then they will be muted and you picng goes down also.

well. i played from version beta 1 to 7

during beta 6 I shined, I was consistently in the top 500 at theclq.com and was deadly as hell with the mp5, since then ive stopped playing as they constantly change smallthings which are annoying. Sure some of the technique is great towards skill in every version, but constantly changing the strength, how much bounce, accuracy of weapons is annoying and not worth my time of relearning them every version

actually bunny hopping is when you can get on top of another person or a hostage, and keep jumping till you are in the sky, youll know it when you see it, there will be a guy floting around shooting you in the head just walking on air. that is my nderstanding, and again it is NOT fixed LOL

no, that was swimming, bunny hopping was a form of strafing and jumping which made you move really quick

well, i think they made it worse. i mean honestly how come half the time i die i get killed by headshot. its gotten to the point where on some servers i can just grap the machine gun and kill the entire team in a berzerk rush but if i play for real w/ a normal gun i get slaughtered. headshots rule and it shouldnt be that way imo, makes it easier for luck or aimbots to kill. (ie gettin headshotted from across a map with a pistol in one shot)

well i think none improvement has been made except the one when u press the tab and see tha teams scores.
