the theme was orange uv reactive stuff and blue uv light. Do normal cold cathodes work?

yes the blue ccfls will bring some glow to your stuff but for the best results you'll need the actual UV CCFLs my 2 blue led fans keep my mobo lit to some extent

P.S. and sorry i'm at school so i can't help search an answer for question 1.

would it be better to get 2 seperate ccs that use 2 invertors? or is 2 ccs to 1 invertor okay?

I have 2 ccs in 1 invertor.

I don't know 100% but I can tell you I don't see any difference in brightness between having 1 ccs plugged in and having 2 ccs plugged in.
