$64.95-20.00 MIR = $44.95 @ Fry's. Not sure if outpost.com is also doing the same thing, but I don't see why they wouldn't be.

$45 seem like a good deal since I need memory to complete my S754 system :)

All cyber deals need to be posted with a link, otherwise they are no use to anyone.
I'd find you guys the link, but outpost.com seems to be down for me.

They don't say too much on the specifics, and it's actually a $25 rebate, so it's only $40, not $45. No matter which OCZ it is, that's a good price for 512MB IMO.
From what I have heard Fry's/Outpost are notorious for not honoring rebates. So be weary of that. With the rebates this is a great deal though!

If you go into one their physical locations, they pretty much have to give and honor the rebate. If you order by mail, they may conveniently "forget" to put the necessary paperwork in. I really don't know. But AFAIK, they only have stores in TX and CA.

I have no idea, as I have not dealt with outpost.com (I go to the local Fry's). Some have accused them of not honoring rebates, but I don't think it would be a problem, since that's illegal, and they are a legit company. Try the link I posted, that one should work.

This looks like an manufacturer rebate (i.e. the rebate is filled and paid by OCZ, not Fry's/Outpost). Since there is a link to a PDF of the rebate at the bottom of the Outpost page, there is no way Fry's or Outpost can rip you off here. If you don't get the rebate, it's all OCZ's fault (unless you failed to obtain a receipt).
someone read the rebate...it says on the top that this rebate is valid between March 2-3 with the valid receipt..in the fine print, it says it is only eligible for purchases between March 1-2..what's up?

I searched google for some more info about these sticks, the only 2 threads i found, claimed to be spitting out errors in memtest at defualt settings.
well i ordered a stick, I will soon find out.

thats how they dont honor rebates. the switch forms around so you end up sending in one that isnt valid. buy the time you find out, its too late.

Well, if you happen to get a bad stick OCZ has a lifetime warrenty on their products, so you wont be stuck with it. Yea, i usually rather prefer not to deal with rebates, as you usually get a run around. Wish the goverment would crack down on these run around companys.
Edit:wow im loosing my mind with this bad spelling.
isn't ocz supposed to be a pretty good brand..

Only recently ( a little over 1 year ) have some OCZ products been really good. If I remember correctly, OCZ used to be notorious.

I use a 512mb stick of OCZ Premier. It decent, I can get it up to about 215mhz when running it by itself. I think my mobo/cooling are the limit. The person I got it from (on these forums I think) says they got it to the high 220's stable.
There is also the OCZ Premier Value editions, which I don't know anything about.
What is up with this?
I put in my order on the 2nd and I get the email but!!!! it reads that I bought on the 3rd? Now the fine print I remember read that this offer is only valid for customers who bought it on the 2nd. Grrrr, I better not get screwed out of my rebates.

You should forward that to outpost and get them to fix it, just in case. Raise hell if they don't cooperate, and they may even credit you the rebate themselves.
THEY WILL NOT HONOR THE REBATE! WHAT A BUNCH OF CRAP!
I cant believe this, they said, well we are on a different time zone so no, we will not honor the rebate, because you ordered your ram from a different state????? What kind of service is that? That is the last time that I"m ever shopping at outpost.com. They said that they would return the product, but will not refund shipping, or pay for the shipping back to them. The shipping as 7.50, the ram is what? 64.99? plus my shipping back to them, i'm out even more for nothing.
Ouch, thanks for the update. Will make sure i never deal with outpost....
Oh great! now what?

I think that it's an OCZ manufacturer rebate, so you may want to contact them, and if the Fry's/outpost folks refused to give you the rebate form, tell OCZ that they did so and they can probably provide you with the proper forms as long as you have a receipt. It would also be a good time to tell them that the RAM was faulty (usually OCZ is pretty good, so that's kinda weird) and be sure to let them know that you did everything right and it is outpost's fault. Outpost/Fry's is a large chain, but if enough people complain to manufacturers about them abusing rebate policies, they may start to lose business. I would be sure to contact the BBB and resellerratings.com to express your displeasure after you contact OCZ. They are pretty decent folks and may be able to help you. Did they really give the time zone as an excuse for not honoring the rebate? I mean, would it have been still within the time frame regardless of time zone, or was it borderline? If their only reason for not honoring the rebate is the first one, I'd definitely raise all hell. I go to Fry's stores all the time and know firsthand the quality (or lack thereof) of most of their employess, so I wouldn't put it past them. Gosh, I'm really sorry that this happened, man.

One other thing to check if outpost is screwing you is whether or not VISA will let you refute the charges for the shipping - VISA may agree that the purchase date is dependant on your time zone and that outpost is in the wrong.
My experience has been that VISA sides with the customer almost always if something can be interpreted both ways, although that is just my experience.
Hope things work out.

Man you should of refused the package from UPS or Fedex or who ever was shipping the package.. I bought some OCZ ram from frys last year some time with a 35 dollar rebate.. OCZ uses a company that specializes in rebates to handle the rebates.. 2 months after sending the rebate info in I recieved an email that my check would be mailing in 10-14 business days.. 4 Months later still no check... So i contacted the company and they tell me that the check was mailed and that if it had not been cashed they would cancel that one and send me another.. Well a month and half later, which was last week I finally recieved my check... My instincts tell me they never mailed the first and this is there standard routine for handeling rebates, in hopes some will never persue it.. I have that companies website in my email if anyones interested..
