I thought if the card running too hot, it's going to produce artifacts, but my LE doesn't have any but it crash to desktop when running 3dmark01. (when I clock it to about 191) . It also crash to the desktop when playing max payne if I clock it above 171. but also no artifact in the game.

In my experience artifacts are caused by pushing your video card memory to high. The crashes you describe sound like you video card core (GPU) is overclocked too high.

Now I don't know about your card but some cards have the GPU and memory speeds loocked, adjust one you adjust em both. If that's the case, you may just need to back down that OC a bit or add better cooling.

When you o/c too much you'll notice small pixels and blocks missing from your screen, usually in heavy 3d games.
