i have a whitewater block on my current rig, and am hoping to switch over to a socket T but i don't feel like buying a whole new block. what will i have to do to get my WW to work on the new socket? i have the P4 plate adaptor somewhere... will i have to modify it? can i even use it on the new socket? thnx in advance.

You could use some aluminum sheet from onlinemetals.com & cut an opening for the barbs, drill your own holes for the block & the mobo, & then use the P4's retention springs/bolt combo to mount it.

Here is a Link ( http://www.cooltechnica.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=AQX-SS304-USMA-WW&Category_Code=CPUWB-ACCESS) to an adaptor that will make it fit, i just bought one for mine, I am going from socket A to socket 754 but it also adapts to intel socket arrangement. Also these guys got me mine in less than 24 hrs:D

sweet, i think i might be able to drill the P4 plate i have to fit the 775, and if not i could always use a little more bling in my rig i guess. i thought for some reason the clip that holds the cpu in would interfere with the block.
thanks a lot guys.
make your own if you can, that things expensive, but not out of aluminum, use steel because it wont bend as much. i have to make an adaptor for an athlon 64

my metal working skills are not exactly what most people would call "skills"... more like a liability. so if i can just measure and drill my existing plate, that's what i'll probably do. if not, then i might give drilling a sheet of steel a shot, but i doubt it'll come out okay. most likely, i'll spend more on materials and tools than it's worth...lol. and break down and buy the dumb plate anyways. and to add insult to injury, my wife will probably remember me screwing up a piece of steel that cost too much for a loooong time. :D
i've looked for the measurements on the mounting holes and cannot find them. anyone know these off-hand for the dfi 875p-t?
i think the mounting holes are circled in red in the attachment:
no, you won't be able to drill your existing s478 plate - you either need to start from scratch or just pick up one of the universal plates from d-tek or cooltechnica

dang, oh well... i better start looking for a blank plate... anyone got those measurements then? i'd like to get some practice and have one ready before i get the parts.
