I am attempting to clock my AMD K6-2/333 processor, which is sitting in a Soyo motherboard capable of 100 mhz FSB speeds and already have PC100 memory. There is much discussion about this particular processor and the question of 66/100 mhz frequencies. My processor has labelled on it the number 66, which I have surmised as the FSB spec. Many people are saying that ALL of these are capable of 100, and others are saying 100 is a problem unless spec'd for it. I will not be running any spectacular nuclear cooling system, just a over-sized heat sink and cooling fan with heat conductive grease to aid the gap. I would also like to keep things reasonably reliable as well, so serious risk takers need not reply. My board is not capable of temperature readings so checking temperature is not an option either. For experts, my board is a Soyo SY-5EHM. I wanted the ASUS but I bought this board not too long ago and the ASUS was NLA. I also added a second cooling fan to the case. I appreciate any help.

well .. if u want to see if your cpu is capible of 100fsb stablity bring down the multipier to 3.5 or 3 so 350mhz or 300mhz if it is great then just move up teh multiplier a bit....for my 1ghz AXIA 266 athlon running at 1.414ghz i rely on my hand for the temps...i just touch the heat sink if its too hot to tuch then i guess my cpu is too hot...since the only reliable temp is in my bios...since the asus probe i hear can be wrong up to 10C
