alright...so about 3 weeks ago...i ordered on their site...sent the order via email to chip
about a half hour later...he responded (speedy, i thought!)...and asked what type of payment i would use...i responded the answer
then the next day my little money order was off with the mailman
4 days later i emailed him to ask him to confirm that he got my money order (yeah...they ARE prepaid and its more or less like sending cash....)
no response ...i waited a week....sent a similiar response...
i read on their site to expect 2-3 weeks for delivery and maybe 4-5 days for processing
thats fine and dandy with me...its just that i would REALLY REALLY like to know what the deal is and whether he got my money...whether Chip is still alive....and if so when approximately will my package be shipped?! i really don't mind waiting at all when i know WHATS GOING ON
i do sympathize with him quite a bit...as his website suggests...hes very busy doing volunteer work...and besides that he runs the whole thing himself....(i think)
anyway....what do u think i should do? and does anyone here know chip personally that could get the scoop on whats goin on? has anyone here had similiar experiences with him?
Check out some of the other forums. Chip appears to be a flake.

thank you so much!!! :) i just called him...left a message...i hope he gets back to me soon!
I sent a email to the sales department of Koolance
im praying they can do something for me :(
Chip is not known for being very responsive. check www.resellerratings.com to see what i mean about him. Koolance has been very good about there support so far so they may help you since hes a reseller. TO Everyone... Stay Away from Overclock-Watercool. I have to many bad things about them. I wanted to order a product from them but i amade sure to give an email first. Never got a response so i didnt order. Phew.
I agree. I tried to order a waterblock from there a while back. 3 months later I still didn't have it (though it was charged to my credit card). Eventually I cancelled the order and got a Maze2 from DengerDen.com... luckily I had used my credit card so it was easy to make sure I didn't have to pay for something I never got.
"Should you find it more difficult than usual to reach me it's because I am volunteering with several local organizations to get the needed clothing, water and other essentials to New York "
even if this is true (and if it is i have no quarrels whatsoever if it takes months...) it doesn't seem to counter all the bad feedback he's had prior to the sept 11th bombings
"Koolance just sent out its first shipments of the new case. They are on the
way to me via UPS ground as of this afternoon..
As soon as they are in and checked out I will have yours on the way.
Thanks!
Chip"
Glad to hear *read* that ;)
Now just be patient till you get it ;)
Interesting so far.. Keep us posted on this.
I have read so many horror stories about Overclock Water Cool, that I am surprised you got an answer. Only OCZ seems to be worse.

I ordered a new Koolance from infotechnow.com -- their rating isn't too good on resellerratings.com but it's not like every site on the net has these cases...

yah, but chip is really nice. I asked him for a cheap watervlock and he voollenteered to send an old one to me for free ( I just had to pay for shipping) OCWater's prices are the best on the net, and he's prolly the most flexible person you can find. I'm a bit scared that I used up 30 bucks on shipping and I might never see a waterblock from him, but.....
His responses come usually within 3 days. Which is very long for a real company...but right now I'm wondeirng if it'll take a eyar for me to get my package :(

Yup about that in US funds.
How much is it in US?
all US vendors were selling for 200...one was even selling for higher than that...
relating to that...one of my close friends is negociating with koolance to become a reseller....and plans to sell for much less than 200
lol...if i would have waited i could have got it for the reseller price from him too....
la la la...still waiting...don't think he's shipped yet

Nobody enjoys a good Canadian currency bash session more than I but if you're going to post exaggerated exchange claims please make them so exaggerated that no on will believe them. $349 Canadian currently equals roughly $225 US, not $120.

hey man, did u get your case yet?
i kinda have a deal with caseetc too.. they calimed to have shipped out my order, and usps says it was allready delieved to my house a week ago.. so im fighting with the usps to figure out what happened :(
well, i have e-mailed Chip at overclock-watercool.com again for the last 4 days, and no response
a week from last Wed. he e-mailed me and told me that it should be shipped with the follwing week, which was last week.
well, no word on shipment, and i have requested numerous times for a tracking number so i know when its being sent
maybe the reason i get no tracking number is because he has no intentions of sending my Koolance any time soon
he is just going to BS me week after week
in this last e-mail i told him that i would like to receive my order before Thanksgiving if not sooner
and if this cannot be done, i would like a full refund
its been over 5 weeks now since my order.
when i ordered it it said 2-3 weeks, and now he has changed it on his web site to 2-4 weeks
with no return or refunds on the Koolance systems
i am so tired off this crap
everytime i talk to him or go on his web site something about the time frame and policy has changed
lesson learned, do lots of research about companies before sending money

i'd be more than happy to write up a report....sigh....this is BS....
if he could just send the money back i could just go to a different place and be getting it within a week....
i sent Chip a E-mail saying:
*********please send me an update about my order
like a tracking number
if i get no response, i will assume you have not sent the order
and I will persue other courses of action
thanks,

fs, he told me he would ship me a free waterblock if I paid him for the shipping. Cost me 30$ Canadian for shipping there and the money to ship, maybe I will get it in a few more weeks
told me 2 weeks ago thursday that he would mail the following day friday...
never got it....gave him several emails in the mean time...no responses
for the records....its been 2 1/2 months since i first ordered
i threatened him in the latest email that i would contact the koolance corporate offices once again....and that i would like my money back if he is not able to ship my case by the end of the month
i sent a e-mail simply stating that if i didn't see any progress in the tracking number he gave me that i would be taking other measures to solve the problem
i get back home after an hour or so and i have my money waiting for me in my paypal account,
he sent my money back,
then he sends a e-mail and sends pics of my koolance in a box ready to be shipped, and it did have my name and info on the package
but guess what, it doesn't mean that UPS had the package on the day i was told they did
then again, maybe they did, but guess what, i wasn't going to play any games anymore and if it was at the place ready to be shipped, why did he give me my money back instead of saying "o.k., if you don't see any progress in the shipping we will speak again?
i only said i wanted to see progress, so therefore, you would think he would of left the Kooalnce at the place since it was bieng picked-up
like i said, maybe i jumped the gun and should of waited, but i did
not feel like playing the same games for another week when i
could order it from www.epowerhousepc.com/ and
have it in a week
Food for Thought: according to UPS, just because you receive a tracking number, it does not mean that the item has been delivered to UPS,
all it means is that UPS has a delivery address and a Billing Address
and all of this can be done from the internet at your house
all in all i think Chip is a good guy, if not he would not of given my
money back, that happens alot on the internet.
i think he has alot going on and is having trouble keeping up with things right now, especially communication, so i wouldn't totally give up on him or his company

Yah, he kinda snapped at me a few months ago too for telling him he took too long on responding e-mails.m He seems to run many buisniesses and vounteers too, so it takes abotu 2-3 days for an e-mail response,m and most of us aren't used to such a long period of waiting
i just got my tracking # and it says my scheduled delivery is the 20th
tho it just says that the billing information has been receieved....not that it has been checked into the UPS station
well...i hope he actually mails it soon
Will, i think you are going to get yours, like i said before i may have jumped teh gun a little, but i was taking no chances
i would say that if there is no change in progress in the next few days i would do something, until then you might probably wait
guess what!!!! scanned in...scanned out...and now its on departure to minneapolis!!!
thank god its finally coming :)

glad to see your getting it
my koolance is coming in the 20th also
i order it from overclocker-watercool.com and wait over 5 weeks
order it from epowerhousepc.com on 15th of Nov. and its on its way due to arrive
Will, let me know when it gets there and what your temps are
Will, (and others following this stuff)
I'm glad you finally got your case. It sounds like we both ordered our cases at around the same time. Unlike you, I haven't gotten the case, my money, a tracking number, or even a solid estimate on shipping or arrival date. I've sent him 3 or 4 emails, getting friendly but somewhat evasive replies to the first 2 of them, citing such things as a short supply of the cases to ship on one reply, and a design change in the cooling system that he wanted to ship to me on another. Finally, on the 14th of this month I sent him an email stating that I either want my case or my money back, and that I would like to hear from him by the 18th. I heard absolutely nothing, so I have both emailed and called sales at Koolance. They told me that I have to take up the problem with the reseller, but then they sent me an email saying that they would forward the email I sent to them directly to overclock-watercool. I'm hoping that if my emails have gotten lost in the shuffle that Chip will recognize his suppliers' address and pay particular attention to that email. In the meantime, I have also filed a formal complaint with his local BBB office. I've had it with this BS, he can either handle his business or I'll handle it for him. One way or another, I'm gonna get either my money back or my case. This has really screwed me up-because it has dragged out so long that I've been called to active duty in the Navy as part of Operation Enduring Freedom, so now I'm not home to be able to build the machine into the case if I eventually get it. I just wanted to vent, and tell people that the overclock-watercool saga is not over yet. Needless to say, I can't reccomend this guy to anyone.
Neil
all i can suggest is be persistant....hell bluff if u have to...threaten legal action or bad publicity....say your posting bad reviews about him in the overclockers forum for thousands to see....maybe something like that will actually get his attention...
i actually ordered my case in early september...not october like you...and it took me 2 1/2 months to get it....
but if theres anything i can do to help, just ask
Well,
It's November 25, and I still have heard absolutely nothing from Chip at overclock-watercool. I wonder if he's heard from the BBB yet? I see it took Will 2 1/2 months to get his case, anybody wanna start a betting pool on how long it'll take me?
instead of using his company email (twocpu@overclock-watercool.com)
use this one instead: chip@technologist.com (his personal email)
i never got any responses from the first...the second i got because when i contacted koolance offices...they sent to this and forwarded the msg back to me...
Will,
I sure appreciate your giving me Chip's personal email address. I emailed him a few days ago, but I haven't heard anything at all back from him, either from that email or from previous ones. Here's what I emailed him:
<Chip,
Frankly, I'm surprised that I still haven't heard from you. I ordered my case w/o PS and with northbridge cooler on Oct 3, paying with paypal. I sent you an email on the 14th of this month, saying that I need either my case or my $250 back. This still applies. Again, here is my shipping information for either the case or the money:
Neil Smith
22 W. Rosemary Rd
Montgomery, AL 36109
At this point, I can't possibly imagine why this much time would have passed without my receiving the case or a refund unless you intend to rip me off, which is looking more and more likely at this point. If you're reacting to this with anger, try to imagine it from my standpoint: I pay on Oct 3, and now it's Nov 26th. I still not only don't have a case, I don't even have a shipping date from you. What would you think?
Neil Smith>
I think that was succinct and to the point. I'm really surprised I haven't heard from him since I filed a formal complaint with the BBB. Since I have been called back to active duty in the Navy (operation Noble Eagle), I have found out that I have access to free legal help from the legal department here on base. I will be going next Monday with all the information I have on Chip and overclock-watercool to see what my options are. I really can't imagine what this guy's problem is-how long can it possibly take to just send a case, or refund some money? Hell, if he wanted to give me a refund, he wouldn't even need to use a stamp. He could just credit it back to my paypal account, from what I understand. Oh well, I'll keep plugging away at it.
By the way, Will, I'd like to get your email address if you wouldn't mind sending it to me. I want to discuss the performance of the case with you. If you want to send it, mine is smissild@bellsouth.net.

I have the same problem! I ordered my koolance almost 2 months ago, and still never got it yet, e-mailed them asking them to let me know my order stats, didn't e-mail be back, I'm so so so ****ed off right now with them. I wrote to Koolance.com about them asking them to take them off their list of sellers. As of now, I really really want to kick this guy chips ass. He should just close the damn so called online business, it sucks, and it takes forever to get anything from them. Some one should just sue them! Damn I'm ****ed!

I can understand someone getting held up with backorders, but I've been waiting since Oct 3. Maybe the navy lawyer can speed him up a little... I'm really ****ed about this, especially when I read about people who order from other vendors and get it in a week or two. Just yesterday, I read a post from a guy whose case was shipped the day after he ordered it! Needless to say, I get fired up all over again when I read things like this. I really would like to get my case or my money sometime before the second coming of Jesus...
I just talked to a salesperson at Koolance. This was a different guy than the one I spoke to a week or so ago, and he seemed much more inclined to help me than the first did. Instead of giving me the party line about "you have to take the problem up with the reseller", he said that he would get in touch with Chip about it. I mentioned that I've already filed a formal complaint with the BBB, and that I am about to go to the navy legal office here on base. The salesman took my email address, so I have hope that he will produce some sort of results.

cool, let me know how it goes, because I'm so damn p***ed about this crap.
if you have been reading the post concerning the overclock-water.com situation,
you know i was one of the guys after Will with the problem
i ordered my Koolance from Chip and he gave me a tracking number
it did not show any progress after 2 days, so that means he just sent billing info, and no package
i then told him that if i did not see progress the next day i will take appropriate action.
i got home and about 1 Hour after sending that e-mail, i get a notice from paypal that Chip sent all my money back
he then sends me picks of my package waiting to be picked up at UPS
well, my point is, if it was there, why would he give my money back, i ordered over $500 dollars worth of stuff from him
anyways, my point is be persistent, i was,
heck, be anoying until he can't stand it
i think Koolance should stop letting him sell the products, l
looks bad for Koolance
anyways, ordered the Koolance from epowerhousepc.com and it shipped the next day, only took 3 days to get it
good luck

hey v8440,
I have also e-mailed koolance about the problem, I told them that I have already talked to my lawyer about it, and if they don't take actions on either help solve the problem soon with overclock-watercool.com or take them off their seller's list, I will be suing both them and overclock-watercool.com. And I'm serious. We should team up together if they don't do anything. I am ready to sue sue sue. I've had enough of this crap.
Hi all,
I go to the legal services office here on base tomorrow. If the guy who also wants to sue will get in touch with me by email, I'll ask the lawyer tomorrow if it's possible to team up with someone else. If so, maybe we can make a go of it. In the meantime, I'm pretty sure they will want to try other things before litigation, if litigation is even practical in this case. (sum of money is only $250, Chip is out of my state, etc etc.) I personally am willing to go to quite a bit more trouble to get this guy to do his duty-it's more the principle of me not wanting to get ripped off than it is the actual money itself. I want to order a koolance case from a REAL reseller, but I don't know when or if the case I ordered back in 1732 from Chip might actually ship. I'm probably gonna build my wife a machine, so I guess I could use a second case, but it really doesn't need to be something like a koolance. I'll probably build an athlon 1 gig or something like that for her. Incidently, my email address is now smissild@bellsouth.net, in case anyone wants to communicate privately about our buddy Chip.

yo man,
Chip promised me a free waterblock if I sent him shipping money (still waiting)...
But even though he's never responding to e-mail and takes a long time to send, I still think he's not a bad guy. if you want, then go to www.procooling.com and tell tell some of the guys there your problems. They are good friends with Chip
Well folks,
I went to the legal office yesterday on base here, and they advised me to seek remedy through Paypal, which is how I paid. I recall that when I tried to pay with my credit card, it wouldn't let me, and instead would let me pay with Paypal. I wonder if this was an accident? The reason I say this is that the helpful folks over at paypal have seen fit to limit your window of opportunity for filing a complaint to 30 days after payment was made. That's right-people who paid more than 30 days ago, the people who would need dispute-resolution help the most, are the exact set of dedicated paypal customers who can't get it. That's about as smart as a bag of hammers. So, I guess I go back to the base legal office and see what the next step is. How about that for a neat clean way for paypal to get the monkey off their back? If you are patient with the vendor in question, you are rewarded by being suddenly unable to pursue remedy through paypal after 30 days.

That sucks, I feel your pain i am still waiting on a rma order... Man i thought that customer service is suppose to be the key to good business, well you can forget about me buying anything from there again...
Hey guys/gals, check this out:
I filed a complaint with the BBB office local to our buddy Chip. Of course, I've heard nothing. I can't seem to find a place on the BBB website to track the progress of my particular complaint, but I did find a report on overclock-watercool.com. Here's the URL:
http://www.cinbbb.org/search
In case the exact address of the report on overclock-watercool changes, the link above is to the search page of his local BBB office. When typing in the company name, don't put the dash in the name. Type overclock watercool instead. Also, note that his business is supposedly a swimming pool business! Maybe that's a mistake in the BBB's records, I don't know... but in any case, look at his record of complaint satisfaction. I think it speaks for itself.

I have also filed but mine is against both www.ussa.com and overclock-watercool... I mean I have waited almost 1 month for my motherboard and I am not waiting anymore. I have received a call from them once but I have left 2 messages on there machine and also wrote them like 15 e-mails I am sick of companies taking peoples money and not giving them the product.. what the hell is the government doing about this...
Hack the planet
Well, I've gotten a Navy JAG lawyer involved, at least now I can get some solid legal advice. Chip seems to have dropped off the face of the earth-a friend of mine has tried to get in touch with him, to no avail. Does anyone know whether he actually works from his address in Cincinnatti? I need to know whether I should bother mailing a letter there. That's the only thing I can think of, since email doesn't seem to work, and the guy can't seem to figure out how to work a telephone.
I came home from FL to pack the rest of the stuff up that I'm taking with me while I'm on active duty, and the Koolance case was sitting on the back porch. I almost passed out. Funny thing is, I just mailed a certified letter to Chip yesterday from my JAG lawyer. Oh well, if he had sent it in a reasonable amount of time, none of this would have been necessary. Of course, he sent the wrong accessory. I ordered the optional chipset cooler, and I received a hard drive cooler, but I'm not going to complain to him. It would probably be sometime next year before he got around to addressing that, so I'll just let it go. Anyway, I don't know whether complaining to Koolance did it, or whether my BBB complaint was responsible, but in any case, I finally have it. The bummer is, I left my main machine in FL, since I didn't foresee needing to bring it, so now I can't start putting this together until Friday when I get back home and get done unloading all the furniture.

if i were you, i would keep the HDD cooler or sell it and order the other stuff somewhere else
when i had my money sent back through paypal, I ended up losing about 20 dollars from the whole deal
paypal charges me a 3% fee
i had the option of declining the payment but.....
i chose not to, because the total on the money was about 500 dollars and 20 bucks was just not worth taking a chance
of noting getting anything
good luck and let us know how the Koolance case works for you
later

GOOD WORK MAN HOPE YOU ENJOY THE CASE AS FOR ME I AM STILL HAVEINH PROBLEMS WITH www.USSA.com and i am really starting to get mad...
I have put my stuff in the koolance case, and here's what it's doing so far: My AYHJAR 1.33 Athlon is running at 1575 Mhz at .100V over stock. I'm running an AK31 Rev 2 motherboard without the volt mod, so .100 over stock is as far as I can go until I do the mod. The koolance temp gauge says 35 deg C at light load. It's stable so far, though I'm going to play some Return to Castle Wolfenstein and heat it up some. Oh, the fan setting is on 1, the least aggressive. Previously, with decent air cooling, I could only get to 1497 Mhz, and it was only stable with the side off the case and no game playing. In other words, it wasn't really stable. In any case, I'm really glad to have this thing up and running. It's been MONTHS since I bought this CPU with the hopes of running it at 1600+. It looks like I may finally be able to do it. I bet the volt mod will really help me out. I'm glad the overclock-watercool saga is finally over. Anyway, I just wanted to share my moment of triumph.
