I plan to buy a Koolance Exos http://www.koolance.com/shop/product_info.php?cPath=38&products_id=88 ; I need a good waterblock for both my CPU and video card. Any thoughts or recommendations?

Ohh... that's AGP...
For CPU block I could recommend something from Swiftech, so perhaps they make 6600AGP mounting brackets fortheir GPU blocks too?

no no no, DO NOT get the koolance exos, unless you want crappy "everything else" to go with the blocks....if you re gonna buy seperate blocks just buy a seperate radiator, pump etc...

I asked about this in another thread but didnt really come up with any good ideas.

I don't have alot of experience with custom water-cooled systems. I am very much open to any suggestions or recommendations. Whatever I do will be out in the open and visible so I want it to look nice and keep the noise level down to a reasonable level. I am willing to spend the money to get quality if needs be.

Get a Silverprop Fusion HL or a DangerDen Maze4 GPU Block. Forget the swiftech waterblock. If your only gonna WC teh GPU getta MCP600 and a BIX :)

Swiftteck CPU block and DD Acetal top would be a nice combo. The swiftteck GPU cooler would be OK except for the aluminum top. That combo would work with just about any of the popular pumps though a higher head one would be preferred. You might want to go directly to DD some of the older versions dont fit.

Doesnt anyone out there make something that competes with the Koolance external systems. Ive been looking all over the net for something and still cant find something that looks better then the koolance systems. I even got my mind around building something myself with another home theater case but all the home theater cases are so much money that by the time I had it all built it would cost me as much as a Koolance Exos-2. Any ideas?

Does it have to external? Can you fit it all in your case?

Eventually if you badly want going external, you may make external box from wood / metal /plexi / fiberglass, put normal stuff to case and some heatercores, fans & pump to external box. For LanParties you'd only have to make it easy to disconnect / make it stick to case. Another option would be partially external cooling - so everything except for heatercore in case.

Koolance systems may look good, but in terms of perfromance, they're not winners for sure.

My case is a home theater Ahanix D4. Fitting three hard drives and a cd drive is a trick in this case so it would be next to impossible to get water cooling in it. I’m pretty sure it has to be external. I found this case on newegg
http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=11-119-043&depa=1
It is the cheapest case I could find that is black and the same width as my Ahanix. I could get one and hack it up to convert it to a water cooler. In the end it wouldn’t be any cheaper then a Koolance Exos-2 but it would probably give me better performance and more space to put some hard drives. What do you guys think? Is that case big enough to build a good water cooled system in?

I forgot to mention. I would still be using my current case. I would just set the new case on top of my old case and run water lines out the backs between them. Hope that makes sense.

Maybe someone else will recommend it but not me.
Dual case idea is generally good and one of my friends has seriously modded second case acting as external box. The difference is that he got it for around $5. It doesn't look that cool, but $80 is just lots of cash. I'd rather go with total DIY - wood / fiberglass / metal / plexi.

I have a large sheet of plexiglass I could use for this. Do you know any links of other people that have done this so I could get some ideas? How big of a radiator do I need to fit to get the job done right.

Check cases / alternative modding / project logs subforums here. There were some other interesting sites too but just now I can't remind myself any good links.

Radiator - people usually use heatercores and BIX radiators - you'd need to think what you want. Bsically they are for 1, 2 and 3 120mm fans. BIX are a little wider than 120mm fans, heatercores are usually around 20cm. You can also get smaller radiators - for example for 80mm fans. Maybe check some stickies or something... It's pretty long time since when I was into water cooling, so I can't give correct data.
