HD temps on maxtors

where can i find the HD temps on maxtor HDs or do i have to buy a sensor and stick it in the HD or something?

Well, if your maxtor has a temp sensor (most drives from the last years do), then any tool able to read the S.M.A.R.T indicators will do, such as DTEMP (http://www.private.peterlink.ru/tochinov/) or HDD thermometer (http://www.rsdsoft.com/hdd-thermometer/index.php)
