View Full Version : Problem with computer starting.

there seems to be a problem with my computer. it doesn't seem to start. well sorta doestn't start like a car. it jerks but it doesn't load up. the fan's spin for a second but then it just stops. i think it might be the power supply but then again it can also be the motherboard. i dontknow which. maybe i might have sorty circuited something......i need help fast.....thanks.....

can you jumpstart the PSU to see if it stays on?

Some motherboards monitor the speed of the cpu fan and will kill the power if it's not running fast enough. It's called burn-proof or something to that effect. The same thing was happening to me and thats what it was, after I disabled it, it worked fine.

thanks for the help....yea it is my power supply. i must have short curcuited when i was sleeving it or something. what are some good power supplies by the way.
PC Power and Cooling and Fortron are often reccomended. I have an ANtec that I love, but I've herad that their quality has dropped lately.

PC P&C is a bit expensive, I have the OCZ Powerstream and its awesome!
