dammit, try aircooling an athlon 1406mhz at 1.85v when the air your blowholes are sucking in is 31C!!!!!

summer is here, and i'm gonna have to think about watercooling again...

Sucks mann! Here in Denmark the summer is almost over, and we are getting decent (Overclocking) temp's again :D At the moment there is about 15C outside! Nice :)

Man, I know how you feel. It's always hot here & when my A/C broke I was really worried that my rig would go up in flames. After a week of no A/C my rig is kinda acting funny. Some of the voltage readings are now reporting a little lower & it sometimes reboots itself. Maybe my PSU is dying or whatever but I hope this doesn't happen to you.

Sounds like time for some active cooling to me either a water chiller or pelts! I choose to put a window AC unit in my computer room to keep temps nice and chilly.

Still, good to know there's kin on the board :D

i had a 118w water-cooled peltier on my duron600 at 1123mhz the whole of the last summer, but had a scare with a peltier power cable catching fire. needless to say i stopped. i've got all the kit lying around, but need to mod a new case to fit it all inside. only thing is i really don't have the time... :( gonna battle on with aircooling for the foreseeable future...

Yes and no...I moved out of South Africa like 8 years ago, to Dallas, TX, then from there to Bangkok, Thailand, then another part of Thailand, then to Singapore, and now I'm in college in Denver, Colorado. Phew. Ek sal jou fokken...I think i get that one, but what's "sal"? I don't know blerrie moer, though, and bliksem is great! Ah yes, and, wait, lost it...it's directly translated as thunder and lightning, I think. Skopskip and donner? I forget. :p

I was down in Durban this past July, which was fun, but man, computer stuff is hard to come by! Do you know a special place or order online, over there? Most people are running pentium 1&2s, that I talked to.

Hey guys I am a south african too, i'll be moving back next month down to the cape. You guys know any good ISPs out there?
At the moment don't have a clue what internet access is like over there.

According to my friend from Telkom its like 2 plastic cups connected with a bit of string. :D :p

"sal" is "will" in english.

"blerrie" is just a rip-off of the way they say "bleddie", i.e. bl00dy.
"Skop, skiet en donner." - "Kick, shoot and up-fusck ;) ". funny way of describing movies of that nature.

yep, oc'ing gear is bl00dy hard to come by. i have a computer business on the side with a mate, so i have distributor acccess. at least i can buy normal gear (cpus, mobos, etc...) for cost. actually, that way some stuff is cheaper than the uk! there's one place in joburg that stocks some oc'ing gear, but otherwise it's mail-order-from-the-states-time!

the best south african isp is either icon or worldonline. without a doubt.

your mate is right though.. telkom, our lovely one and only telecomms provider, sucks complete llama-a$$. it is literally about 2 steps up from the cups and string thing. be prepared for a horrible shock when you get here... sorry.
