I have a small network setup for my home and home office, and I can't seem to fax through the network. 2 desktops and 2 laptops. The desktops are wired and laptops wireless. I'm using a Lexmark x4250 all in one, d-link di-614+ wireless router and xp home on all pcs. I had the same problem with my cannon multipass c530 all in one. I can print from any of them, but not fax.

Hmmm, the all in one does run through the phone line, but the fax's are generated through the software, or my business software.

Well if you find you aren't able to get your setup to work, and are looking at replacing it. I'd look into a Muratec MFX - 1300 series with Office Bridge Online. It's an amazing little machine that does fax, copy, scanning (b&w), and has a web-based interface. There is a small learning curve to setting it up for the first time, but it's worth it. I've installed two of the MFX - 1300s (soho), and the big brother, the MFX - 2830 in an office of about 60 employees, and its been great. Good luck.

Not looking to replace it, I can fax from my office PC, just not other networked PC's. That's why I'm kind of baffled.
