I'm still waiting for my delta et al to arrive and the casal cutting to begin =)) but while I wait I thought i would ponder air chillin. I read that article, informative it was too. I also have my old case, w/ 300w power supply in it, which I was considering turning into a small air conditioning unit that would feed into the top of my case. But as large pelts are hard to come across cheap in the UK, I wanted to know if an 80w Pelt would do anything worthwhile for case temps which are about 39 degrees active atm without fans, if used in a chiller. The air it would be chilling would be from the outside, so would be a good few degrees cooler than inside temps in these autumn nights =)). I'll make a pic showing what I mean with the case mod in a bit.

Seems sketchy to me. Remember, you cant transmit 'cold', as cold is merely the absence of heat. Also, to move air, as in blow cool air into another case, that air has to come from somewhere. you could try putting the pelt. on the outside of the case, with the cool side touching the steel, but I dont think that this would be too terribly effective.

Have you not see the air chiller link? It is just blowing air over the cold side of the pelt via the heatsink on that side and then blowing that air into the case, with the warm side being vented via another heatsink through the top of the case.

that system could be useful for people who have to cope with african summers I will soon, and my athlon gets bloody hot!!!

also try ducting the chilled air onto the heatsink that way it is always pumping cold air onto the cpu.
