I can get 2x Via M3 600's for the price of one Cel 700, 2x C3's for the price of one Cele 800 and the 2x Procs and a mobo and 128Mb RAM for less than the equivalent T-Bird 1G. My system will be a file server/proxy/gateway and I need to run Photoshop,3dsMax and misc apps on it all at once. Do the C3's/M3's do dual processing? The C3's are also good for me cos they supposedly can run without active cooling, therefore should be able to O/C pretty well.....Any comments, or is none of it possible??

I found the answer to my own questions: C3 DOESNT DO SMP!!! Therefore, nor would M3. That means, a dual Cele800@1064(8x133) is probably best. Or maybe a 1Ghz TB @ 1.4 + 512MB RAM+80GB HDD..........

Hi bergie007,
I'm sorry but you can't use a system with a double Celeron2 (Coppermine series), so the only way to go is a P/// or Amd, double or single ;)

As The Doors has already said, the coppermine Celerons don't do SMP either!

It's only the full p///s that do SMP. Intel got wise to ppl using dual cellies as cheap duallie workstation CPUs, so they took the functionality from the cellies.
