View Full Version : i keep getting this message "Please Check Signal Cable"

brand new computer i built..
when i power it up
i get please check signal cable and the moniter shuts off
i check my gfx card and the fan is spinning
this just happened to me.. a few days ago .. i was able to go into bios and all but all of a sudden i'm getting no signal

it's probably not your monitor.
Try resetting your cmos.
try building the PC outside of the case to rule out grounding.
Also, list all the components in your system.

i double checked to make sure all the standoffs were in the correct place
the thing is.. it worked fine a week ago and when i came homne today.. i got that message.. very wierd
do i just take the battery out to reset the cmos ?

reseat the vid card, its vid plug, make sure the power to the vid card is connected (and or reseat it) if it has one. Make sure at least one of the hold in screws for the monitor cable are screwed into the vid card.

tried that with no luck
i seriously don't understand why this would happen suddenly
it was working fine a week ago
you think taking out the battery will have any effect ?
It will definately reset cmos. But then you can do that with the jumper.
