Well, I finally beat HL2

Yeah, I know I am behind the rest of you, But I finally did it. ......Now what. :shrug: Every new game I am looking at getting is just shallow in comparison. That was just a great game. A little short, but still excellent. I guess what I am after here is recomendations on something new. No shooters please, I got enough of those laying around. I want something with a good engrosing story. And if anyboy says Doom, I'll kick 'em in the teeth. I tried it, It sucked. It's pretty, but it sucked. I was looking at KOTOR 2 or Riddick. Any better suggestions.

KOTOR 2 is good, or at least 98% the ending sucks and has some sequences that dont make sense due to things they removed from the game. I thought most of the game was as good as the first one though

I might check out that Cave story. Those high quality 8 bit graphics just make it look .....cute.

Have you thought of changing the pace a little bit and going RTS? The RTS world is booming this year with so many releases.

1. Act of War
2.Empire earth II
3.Age of Empires III
4. New civ game(forget what it was called)
5.Red alert 3 (not sure when this guy is suppose to be released)

Since I have been playing so many FPS games, I really needed to "rotate my crops" so to speak. :)

Although you don't want a shooter, Call of Duty is probably the best one I have ever played. I've been playing since it came out and still am not bored of the campaign and online gameplay. I totally agree with this comment.

For fun RPGs give KotOR and KotOR 2 a try--for MMORPGs probably WoW.

They definatley left it open for a sequel. It was a bit more of a surreal dream sequence than I would have chosen, But it was suited to the game and true to the original.

i sitll havent finished Hl2 if it make u feel better.

Call of duty seems to be more stragety then FPS - u use old WWII weapons and riffles that take more then 1 shot to kill a guy pending where u hit them :D the weapons arent dead on accurate so it makes it more challenging - and the only play is fun when u get ina 60 person server :D

riddick is a really good, but really short first-person shooter/fighter/adventurer/sneaker . . . really kinda hard tho. but you get extra stuff on the PC version so its all good.

I could play that last level over and over. For some reason I just liked tossing bodies around like rag dolls. And if you were on the other side of those weird power things and grabbed a person, they'd get sucked into it. Cool... :D

I was SOOOO glad to see the super grav gun at the end of HL2!
In the techdemos a year or two before it came out, they were able to manipulate bodies. I was quite disappointed at first when you couldn't. Once the gun got supercharged, I was quite excite.

Well, to make up for it, you can pin bodies to walls with the crossbow... I never get tired of that either... :D
