I bought my 9700 pro when they first came out and it just let up the smoke during a power outage. I haven't been paying attention to the video card market at all as the 9700 pro wasn't doing bad enough to warrent a upgrade. So basically can someone give me a quick run down or point me to a place that was info on all the new cards. I will be going pci-e now since I now have no reason not too. So what would give the best bang for the buck and what would i get by getting the next step up? Thanks for your help.

are you upgrading your system? if not, then either a 6600gt for around $200 or a 9800se for around $100 and then flash it to 9800pro. whats your budget?

id get a nforce 4 (amd or upcoming intel) mobo to complement ur new card (if u dont have it already) as fore the card id go with a x800xl 300$? a 6600gt 200$? a 6800gt 450$?or a x700 pro 200$?

ps. there are verry few ways u can use ur curent cpu on new pci e mobos the exceptions being athlon 64 processors and geting a 915 mobo that suports socket 478

wat do u have mobo/ram/cpu/psu/cooling/fans u should put this in ur sig
and wat are ur upgrade plans

Are the X800XLs PCI-E only? because I cannot see them in AGP anywhere in the UK.

The fan boy poop you should leave out of your posts. It'll only end up in a flame war and get the thread locked. Which won't help Kasm at all.

Kasm, how much you looking to spend (rough figure).

WTH are you talking about? you're reading things *into* my post that aren't there man. the post is in jest if you can't tell. I'm just tired of everybody and their mother saying that the x800xl is "coming soon"...... {sheesh} both companies have good cards, but I'd prefer to have the XL for an AGP bus.

I know you were joking, but some other people are fieircly loyal to whatever company. Sometimes it just takes one comment even a joke to start people off. Especially in this part of the forums.

Erm 6600GT, or a 9800Pro. Wanna spend more a 6800, or a X800Pro.
