i really need help with this, i've reinstalled 2k 3 times but each time the drivers for my sound card won't work (the type is in my sig below). it simply locks up at the final stages. any help would be appreciated.

Silly as this sounds, I had some shutdown / restart issues that were solved by moving the card to a different PCI slot. It might be worth a shot if you haven't tried it already. Also be sure to get the right drivers from their website.

tried it already, but thanks anyways. went back to se :( . guess i'll just have to wait till i get a better sound card. sigh, being a poor college student sucks

I had the same problem .If your loading them off of the disc they won't work. go to www.turtlebeach.com and load the updated drivers first then it should work fine
