Greetings all,

Right now I am going to make the plunge and purchase a joystick. Never done that since the days of decent but with BF2 coming out soon and wanting to play other sims, the need for a joystick is a must. Any recomendations?

Logitech Extreme 3D Pro joystick is what I use for Battlefield games. It does the job nicely for about $30.

Here it is at newegg.com, although it was cheaper at my local Wal-Mart so I would check there first: http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=26-102-204&depa=0

Thanks for all the replies. I was looking around on newegg today and I think I am interested in the Saitek X45. They look awesome, but just to be safe, has any one had any issues in the past with these?

Well, I will tend another vote for logitech. I am on a really old one (Wingman Strikeforce 3D) and it is still going strong after all this time. It is built like a tank.

The X45s are nice but require 2 hands to fly (where as on a traditional I can "pinkie" the throttle and type with the other. But I use the Saitek Cyborg Evo. Just make sure it has a good centering spring and about 4 buttons if all your using it for is BF2.

I've heard good things about the Cyborg Evo and in fact I have a Cyborg Evo wireless on the way. :)

I have a Logitech Dual Action and it is garbage. Do not buy this product under any circumstances. From what I understand, all of the Dual Actions have the same problem (unable to hold calibration for more than a few hours at most) and Logitech refuses to even acknowledge the problem, let alone do anything about it. Take a look at their forums and you will see many unhappy customers.
