I was wondering where I should place my temp. probe to get an accurate reading of my case temp......any ideas...or does it matter? Thanx:)

River,

If you only have one probe a good place to put it on the back directly on the Fan that pushes the air out of your case, preferably at the top.

I have a bunch of probes, one on the intake air fan lower bottom, one on exit air top, one next to the cpu die and one on the back of my Video cards GPU. For everything else I use a infrared thermal scanner.

DigitalDocs are an overclockers best friend(next to thier spouse or dog lol)

I temporarily hung my probe from the bottom of my psu right between the hs for my cpu and the 80mm exhaust fan.... right now I have a case temp. of 22.5°C and a ambiet temp. of 22.2°C. Is this even possible????? my idle temp. is 36°C right now

River,

I think your temp probe may be a little out of whack as the case temp is below the room temp :p   :p

Other way around....the room is cooler, but only by .3°C

Below ambient case temps are possible. I have seen it on a couple of reviews with some extreme air cooled cases.. They had somethins like 6 120mm fans in them. Crazy loud stuff if you ask me.
