Win2k SP4
Belkin 802.11g pci card

Every minute and eight seconds, the following event happens in my event viewer under application log:

Event Type: Information
Event Source: EAPOL
Event Category: None
Event ID: 2002
Date: 3/10/2005
Time: 6:11:06 PM
User: N/A
Computer: HTPC
Description:
The description for Event ID ( 2002 ) in Source ( EAPOL ) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. The following information is part of the event: The event log file is corrupt..


Any thoughts? Only thing that turned up on google was a post from someone with the same problem.

Did you try disabling IEEE 802.1X Authentication like the link says? You might also want to download the latest drivers for your network card.

Didn't have any Authentication options that resembled what the link was talking about, but I disabled the "Wireless Configuration" (WINXP: Wireless Zero Configuration) Service, and its been 10 minutes since I had an event.

Fixing a problem that easily makes me feel like the world is ending.
