LCD Screen - No Backlight

I have checked and doublechecked my connections, and everything is soldered fine by default, but I have no backlight. What could be causing this?

I've found out the reasoning, is because the backlight is EL foil. Is there any way I can build an inverter for this?

could try an inverter for EL wire...possibly a CCFL too mabe

A friend of mine says he has an inverter for a CCFL, but I am worried about the voltage. Would it possibly burn up my LCD?

Where might I buy an inverter for EL foil? Anybody know? I'm not really looking for a combo of foil and inverter, but that is all I have found.

Also, a question about how I would hook up an inverter? I dont see any obvious way on this LCD

Thanks, I will probably buy the one from the ebay site. The only concern I have is its use of a battery. How long will that last, @9v?
