9800 pro question

I got a refurb 9800 pro from newegg and installed latest drivers, looked fine and I was happy until I played doom3 and in places it is dark, one spot had a black line across screen and some textures are black that I know are not on my other card. Is this a bad card?

try running 3dmark03. if it does the same thing, check that the heatsink isn't full of dirt and lint. did you test it on other games?

That's why it was "refurbed." Honestly, newegg's "refurbed" should not be considered a refurbished section, but more like a Fry's Electronics open box sale, guaranteed DOA. I hope you can still RMA the card because you're SOL if you can't.
