View Full Version : Added fan dropped temps
I added a 120mm fan on the side of my Antec830 last night and it has dropped my temps considerably! It helps that a cold front came through and with the cooler ambient temp I am running one of my 1.2s @ 1425 158x9 with an idle temp of 32c and load at 40c.I can't wait for winter!

You might try to turn the fan around and do a duct type of thing, and suck the hot air away from the processor. Mosdt people have positive results.
ok, l'll go any drill a hole in my case as well.
btw, i've got a question....
what tool did you use to cut though that metal? did it leave sharp edges? how did you blunted those sharp edges? with what tool?

I've done some similar mods...you might find this thread to be of interest:

Some people use a dremel mototool to cut the holes, personally, I found it easier to drill a couple of holes and extend them with a "nibbler" tool, then grind the edges with the mototool and sandpaper.
I have an alpha PAL8045 on order :D
Yes, I used the Dremel and then grinded down the rough edges.

Dremel and suchlike mototools with cutting wheels work very good for cutting holes. The last two times I pre-perforated the edge of the hole with a small drill and then "connected" the small drill holes with cuts of a dremel -worked very good and saved a lot of time...
does anyone have a picture of a dremel tool? or anysite linking to a picture of a dremel tool? =P

you can also just do a search for dremel and alot of links come up
