View Full Version : cs:s problems.. please help :(
ok... so i just went through hell to get counter strike source to work offline
so now, whenever i play a map other then cs_office, as soon as i finish "loading" and where you have to click "ok" to start the game, CS:S crashes to the desktop, but it seems as if it is only lowered to the taskbar.. when you click on it, it brings up a black screen with a cursor for about 5 seconds, then goes back to desktop..you can do this repeatdly :eh?:

I would have to say your best bet is to reinstall.

Hmm. Have you got latest drivers for both GFX and nForce?
i have the latest nforce drivers,and im using the 66.93's...
it doesnt have any problem when its online though... :eh?:
did you update the game. There was an update for source just a few days ago.
i updated it yesterday :)

Try these drivers here (http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=1005) . I would reinstall. I bet that will fix your problems.
ok.. ill try those... i made a mistake.. im using the 66.77 omega drivers right now

You can also verify your instal thru steam, have you tried doing that yet? There might be just a corrupt file in the instal that is causing the crash.
yea, i brought my pc downstairs when i got CS working online, and i did the verification.. i thought thats what the problem might have been ^^

it sounds like a vid card problem. Mine used to do that till i got my new card so you should look into that.

lol i was hoping to get a new card, i was thinking a 6600GT... but i dont think my mom will let me :(

Try going back to a previous driver set. That sometimes help. Also make sure you fully remove the old drivers before you load teh next ones you use.
ive tried numerous drivers, the omegas, 66.93's, and a couple of 70's
please help :cry:
