I'm thinkin of my new system and i've come to a crossroad. ddr or ddr2, 4 months from now ddr2 might be the thing to get but amd mite not support it yet. Anybody got any news on the soonest amd might release a ddr2 system.
ddr is reaching ddr2 speed so I don't think ddr2 will take off in it's current form.
right now you won't see the advatages of the DDR2, may be it worses than DDR.

AMD is supposed to use DDR2 w/ socket M2 1H '06. The way it looks now it will not be beneficial, but perhaps another year of evolution will improve it enough to make it an upgrade.

well ddr2 is suppose to be taking off this summer they got new ddr2 chips out that are suppose to be (lol)super-duper(couldn't find a good word for it). At ddr2 800 then we'll see ddr3 and speed are already climbing to faster speeds it's just fsb that is the bottleneck. but i was thinkin the same thing about ddr. If it did get ddr i got get the ocz power thingy. Losing a slot for 3.8 volts doesn't sound like a bad trade off. At that voltage you'd need passive cooling i bet if anything could reach it.
