stripe size question

ok ive read 2 other threads on this topic and come to the conclusio that 16k is best for me (i think) but i think they wher talking about 2 hdds on raid 0 but i have 4 hdds on raid 0 (ata100 4x10gb) and i was wandering if 16k is still for me or should i use a diferent size and also what cluster size works best on a raid (one/fourth stripe maby?) does it make a dif i use this rig for games and want it to boot fast anyone got some sugestions

Not all RAID performances work on every single computer.
Like ram, there is no magic number, so you will have to test individual settings.

it really depends on the type of work you'll be doing, and as you'll have seen in your reads. It doesn't affect performance very much at all. The factor of having 4 drives instead of 2 won't make a difference except that now your files over 16k will be spread across the array. So yeah, go with 16k, for gaming and general use, it provides the optimal disbursement.
