sata & ide help needed on Abit AS8

hey,
i just put my computer together
ABit As8
P4 2.8 (775) ( 520 )
ATA Drives ( IDE 80gig Maxtor Ata/100 and liteon DVDRom IDE )
SATA Drives ( SATA 200 GB WD and DVD PLextor DVD-RW)
i have all 4 devices hooked up, but when i start the computer it wont boot into the operating system. unless i unhook the two IDE devices and it works fine. IS IDE & SATA not compatible wich eachother on the same motherboard? or do i have to change something in my settings?

do you have the boot order set correctly in the bios?

SATA and IDE are completely compatible with each other.

Go through your BIOS completely and make sure everything is setup to allow for your configuration. If there's any item that you don't fully understand, find out what it controls. There's quite a few things that have to be enabled.

I'm using my two IDE and two of my SATA ports on my ABIT board with no trouble.
