Well I've been trying to get my lil Duron to spark life over 116 mhz, after swapping out my trusty 250watt,"typically way under powered for what I'm running" I figured i'd grag a 400watt enermax dual fan, all neato and cheato. Well one advantage was I could get a sorta post and boot at 120fsb with the 400, but that was it. Now heres the catch, so after settling for 116fsbx 9.5 for 1102mhz, i got good solid boot, although prime 95 didnt care for it.....so its not successful.......back to what Im trying to say, the +12volt was a little more solid with the 400 but the +5volt output was reading at a low 4.48volt, while with my 250watt held up at 4.91. Well considering that the keyboard and mouse run on the 5volt line, at 4.48volts I couldn't hardly move the mouse, it just wiggled and took about 30 seconds to move across the screen. I thought I had given my comp parkinsons disease "no offense to anyone" ........so low and behold i've had to swap back my trusty 250watt supply and all is cool by the pool......who woulda thought.........any ideas or suggestions would be great.
Thanks

I recently built a new system and (to my surprise) I found this: the new 300W PSU (ATX) outputs 20A at the 5V line, while my old 250W (AT) did 25A. The ATX PSU has a 3,3V-12A output, so 3,3Vx12A+5Vx20A+12Vx12A = about 300W. However I donīt know if the CPU draws power from the 5V line only or both the 5V and 3.3V lines. Hope this helps...

get that psu replaced!!! It should be doing way better than that, must be a dud psu because the enermax should be way better.

Enermax are an excellent PSU maker so they should swap it for a new one and if you get the same problem they should refund ur money
