I have a 512 kit of LE's, and I just need more RAM. My hard drive hates games because they are constantly thrashing it :D Plus, this GSkill is not the best of friends with my Intel stuff. Granted, it will meet and exceed its rated speeds, just not with my current CPU. I just want something that will do 236FSB at decent timings, and I want a GB of it. What would you do? I can either sell this 512, or keep it around just in case, but I dont want to break the bank on new RAM. I was hoping to keep it around $200 if possible. If its not doable in that price range, I'll sell the LEs to compensate. If I can find something that will play nice with a possible AMD in the future, even better.
TIA,
AC
try the Patriot XBL they use the brain power PCB. XBL is cheaper than other TCCDs

I've heard some bad reviews on that Patriot stuff, but I'll keep an open mind. I should have said that I really do want something with some future growth potential. If OCZ VX would jive with an 875 chipset I would be all over it!! Is there anything similar to the VX in performance on an Intel platform? Maybe I should just start looking for some used BH-5...

with a ddr booster theres a damned good chance you could get a pair of twinmos speed premiums at the fsb you want with 2-2-2-5 timings http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=20-218-405&depa=1 although there is no gaurantee but for the price, and with whats posted here http://www.ocforums.com/showthread.php?t=368029 if i could afford it i would definately be trying a set myself......
*edit* i guess you say the ocz vx doesnt fair well on intel which is basically what the twinmos is at this point i don't know what to recommend...too much of an amd knowledge here
review is review i don't trust the review. this site gives a good score and other sites give bad score. money control the score man lol.
the VX you need at least 3.0v man. VX = voltage sucker

although tccd is good (if you plan to up to amd in the near future) if not i wouldnt even consider it as its definately a known poor performer on the intel platform.

Nevermind. Its not in stock. Ugh... its too early :D
Crucial Ballistix performs equally well on both Intel and AMD systems. I have my Ballistix @ 1t, 260FSB 2.5-2-3-6
I can run 2.5-2-2-6 up to 250-255 and 2-2-2-6 up to ~ 240-245ish. All of this is with only 2.9 vdimm on my DFI board. I've primed for 20 hours (I closed it, wanted to get on the computer), and everything passes memtest fine. I could probably even tighten the timings more if I gave a few more volts, since it's rock stable as it is. At 260 I can boot into windows @ 2-2-2-6 but I don't last too long, hehe.

Hmmm that Ballistix seems to be pretty sweet indeed. Would you guys recommend the 3200 or 4000 for best overclocking potential? Any Intel guys that will vouch for this stuff?
Thanks

BTW, I have no problem modding my Max 3 for 3.2 vdimm either. If I go BH5 I'll have to do it anyways.
