View Full Version : why there's so much "non-cc paypal" in the classifieds?
i have a paypal account but have used it only two times. i live in argentina so i can only add funds via CC. but so many people do not accept CC paypal payments . . . why is it any different from regular paypal? does the seller get any less money if i pay him with CC paypal? if so, i would gladly add this fee but i don't know how much it is . . .

They used to. It used to be paypal wouldn't charge fees for direct bank transfers, but I think paypal changed this recently so they're gouging regardless of payment type and people haven't caught on yet. They steal right around 4% everytime I use them. Their fees seem to climb with the # of pending lawsuits against them.

Many people don't accept CC PayPal payments due to the fact that the "free" personal accounts don't accept CC/debit payments. In order to accept these payment options, one must have the Premier or Business accounts which do indeed entail a fee. Exactly what the fee and/or any currency conversion costs are can be found at PayPal :)

More or less because it whacks you about 3% on every transaction, including cash ones, which I feel to be a little unfair. If it only wacked the CC transactions, I would allow them, but 90% of the people I deal with use cash, so why should I end up with 3% less just to be able to accept money from a few people?

In addition to that, the other main reason is so that a person cannot do a credit card chargeback
