Has any one done benchmarks on a system running a AGP graphics card and then running the same card only PCI?I'm curious how big of a diference in FPS AGP makes...

Voodoo Cards were terrific in AGP vs. PCI variants. You would loose approx 15-20% performance between the two. The big difference is the direct connection to the CPU that the AGP "Port" offers.
AGP is only for Video, it's thought of as a Port. PCI is a Bus which is capable of handling multiple devices..you know..sound card, nic card, modem etc. The PCI bus itself is slower when compared to AGP in transfer rates and, if it is sharring multiple, active devices, then it has to share the available bus speed w/ all those devices using IRQ's.
I agree with WillyNut- I had both types of Voodoo3 3000 on an Intel 815- very constant 25% or so loss of performance. That bus is just to stinking crowded.
For some reason the PCI one ran MUCH hotter; I assume there's a voltage differance between the two also.
