To buy or to wait ?

Hello all ! :(

I would like some advise if its wise to buy now a new cpu
My current 900 TB is an oldager... I am thinking of buying a 1.4 TB
But...since the Palomino 1.5 is due to release I am wondering ...
Well I dont even know if my MSI TURBO K7T will be able to run the Paly. It has the voltage and multipliers...but not the proper bios fror the new AMD beast...
So whats wiser ? buy now a 1.4 TB or wait till/if MSI releases a new bios ?

personally i'm waiting for the palominos. I don't plan on buying one mind you. But I figure there should be something of a fire sale on TBirds a bit after the palominos hit the market.

nihili i dont think so... because tbird were in a price war with p4....now athlonXP will be called 1900mhz when its realy 1500mhz so the prices might be able to a tad cheeper then the 1.8ghz p4....since its compareable now.....

what is the max your **(EDIT)900athlon** can overclock too with your current core? if you want teh best value get a athlon 1ghz 266 version i got mine AXIA/Y up to 1425 nowand it was only $140 CDN try to find the 5 letter codes /Y there susposed to be able to get into the 1500s so thats like 50% overclock for soo cheep

good idea but not worth it yet.. becuase durons are still made with aluminum interconnect all the sites said that puppy was only able to get around 1200s mhz and 1ghz athlon is realy close in price wait till the copper durrons come out and then there is something worth getting.. its going to be one crazy overclocker:mad: .....:D
