Costco has a real cheezy one. Try your local bottled water companies. They may have some scratch and dent coolers you can just haul away. Look for one with a stainless steel reservoir.

thank you Colin, one question tho if i was to go to costco or water company what would i say i am looking for? a water chiller? or is there a special name for it? i think i may try costco first because i can always return it if it doesnt work :)

Ask for a bottled water cooler. The Costco unit is about $120 and no where near the quality of an industrial grade Oasis unit.

Just find out what they have. The yellow pages are bound to be full of bottled water providers. I would think the local firms would be your best bet.

Remember this, they make quite a bit of noise! When the compressor kicks in the whole thing rattles, too, so be wary of what you're buying, personally I'm going with a bong cooler and my custom made peltier chiller.

thanks for the info fuzzba11 about the noise issue..does anyone know if i can put the water chiller and compressor in a sound proof box? well not sound proof but a box with sound deadening material in it? or does the unit need to have air running over it?

with a powerful pump, I think you can use a long tube and put the water chiller in a area that can isolate noise, I am gonna think about this one too since I am bit disappointed with my current watercooling system,

do you guys now how cold can these things make? I mean how is it compare to let say a 122Watt peliter water chiller?

don't know how hard you want to hit this, but here's some info

(lab) chillers have more capacity - see www.labx.com for an assortment
I use a Haake A92 which I found (stole) on eBay for $72 delivered
its a moderate sized unit (150 lbs.)
I have it in another room with a 15 ft. long 5/8 in. ID pipe run,
this depends on the pump selected
as they control the bath/coolant temp by running the compressor all the time and cycling a 1000W heating element "against" it, do expect your power bill to go up
temps ?, to -20^C

smaller units can work well and at less cost by disconnecting the heater (and losing the temp control capability)
say to -5^C (but not with a 20 ft. pipe run)

and they all need a good supply of cooling air

be cool

Yeah I saw a similar one on ebay last night but this line scared me
"Cooling Capacity: 14000 watts" , holy sh@t I will get heart attack if I see the electric bill:p

just got a 90's Oasis water cooler NOT working so well at this time, the peltier attach with water block HEAT faster than the Oasis can cool it, I will try do with the pump inline and tweak the thermometer to see if I'll get better the result otherwise I have to return it :(

I called all my local water bottle companies, they said that getting a "scratch and dent" is unlikley because if its just the outer plastic broken, they can replace that. A new one goes for $200+ , too expensive for my blood.

Ebay or the junkyard looks like the only alternative :( . Unless you can find a fool to sell you one for like $10 :D

bottled water cooler isn't a really good way for T-bird, unless you got a 300Watts+ one..... gonna return mine tomorrow:(

BTW any one know how to remove the odor from waterwetter?

re odor of water wetter - no

but I was told that Miller has a clear odorless corrosion inhibitor for their water-cooled welders

if anyone gets a part no. and price - please post
